My name is Shannon Sanford.  I am currently the reading specialist at South Lamar School and Vernon Elementary.  I have been employed in the Lamar County School District for twenty years.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from MUW and a Master’s degree in School Guidance and Counseling from UWA.  I began my teaching career as a kindergarten teacher. I taught kindergarten for ten years, 3rd grade for three years, and this is my seventh year as a reading specialist.
