Meet the Counselor
I am a 1996 graduate of Lamar County High School. After graduation, I attended Bevill State Community College and Mississippi University for Women. In 2001, I began my educational career at Columbus High School teaching 10th grade World History. After four years, I accepted a job at South Lamar High School teaching science and history. While teaching at South Lamar, I earned my Master’s Degree from the University of West Alabama. In 2009, I transferred to Vernon Intermediate School to teach 6th grade. I accepted the guidance counselor position at Vernon Elementary/Intermediate Schools in 2014. Currently, I serve as the guidance counselor for Lamar County High School. I have seventeen years of experience in the field of education. I am married to Jason Turner and we have a daughter, Madi.
