The Lamar County Child Nutrition Program is excited to announce beginning on Friday, September 4, all students in the Lamar County School District will be able to eat both breakfast and lunch at NO COST. Extra items will still be available for purchase at their normal cost.
Meals that are available to our virtual students, through our weekly meal pick-up, will also be available at no cost.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended several flexibilities until the end of the 2020-21 school year. We will be able to provide meals at no cost through May 27, 2021, unless funding for the program is exhausted before that time. This is only temporary, so if you haven’t returned your Free/Reduced lunch application, please do so as soon as possible. We need those forms if you want your child to continue receiving Free/Reduced lunch when this program ends.
You do not have to do anything to qualify for this program, benefits will begin immediately. Your child's breakfast and lunch will be free daily until May 27, 2021.
Families are still responsible for any lunch debt accumulated prior to Friday, September 4, 2020. You may pay this debt by sending payment with your child, by mailing a check to your child’s school, or by depositing money into your child’s PayPams account.
